You will also need to have a pair of LOCKABLE ROOF BARS already fitted to your vehicle to carry a roof box etc. and whilst we offer these at very competitive prices, unfortunately due to the massive variations of fittings for each individual vehicle, it is not possible to hire them. We can however confidently recommend a Thule locking system for extra security and peace of mind, which we offer for sale at DISCOUNTED PRICES for all types of vehicles. Your roof bars can also be used in the future for a variety of purposes e.g. Cycle Carriers, Ladder Supports, Ski and Water Sport accessories etc. and in most cases, the bars can be transferred to your next vehicle (or cars belonging to other family members/friends), simply by changing some of the components.
Due to the value of our equipment, plus your contents, they can be an easy and desirable target for thieves, and whilst all our roof boxes have a security locking system incorporated as standard, it is important if you are supplying your own bars, that these are also lockable. PLEASE NOTE: We will not hire our roof boxes on non-locking bars.
Please ensure you adequately insure both the value of our equipment, and all your products and contents as any theft/damage is your responsibility and the full value* of the equipment will be charged if the items/s are not returned in original condition.
Retention over the agreed hire period will be charged at DOUBLE the daily rate
Two recent household bills or one bill + passport or drivers licence is required as proof of ID and address.
The Journey Centre will provide clean serviceable equipment upon commencement of the hire period.
This is included within the cost of the hire.
If so, they must be already attached to your vehicle at the time of hire (set at approximately 700 mm apart), they must also be of a suitable type to accept the box and be fully lockable.
Should you need any advice, or require us to supply and fit locking bars at the same time as your box hire, please ensure you discuss this with us prior to collecting your roof box. This will ensure availability, as each car model requires individual components which are vehicle specific.
This service is subject to our usual charges, and for safety reasons, we only fit roof bars supplied by The Journey Centre.
In advance of the hire period is required and is accepted as confirmation of the hire agreement and is NON-REFUNDABLE. We accept Cash & Credit Cards.
TO BE PAID BY CASH ONLY – payable at the time of collection – this is refundable, subject to the equipment being returned on time, undamaged and clean – £25 will be deducted from the security bond if cleaning is required upon return.
PLEASE NOTE: Hire Service is only available from the store – not mail order.
*Full value is the selling price prevailing in our store at the time of hire which may not necessarily be the MRRP.
