STOCK & DELIVERY UPDATES: Update 15th July 2020

Warning - Stock Alert 
Whilst both our store and mail order services are now fully operational, there are unfortunately major issues with supplies of many of the items we offer for sale. This is due to the tremendous difficulties all our suppliers are suffering, in their attempts to keep pace with the massive upsurge in demand for anything connected with the holiday and leisure sectors.

Should your requirements be urgent, please contact us prior to placing an order to check availability as our website will automatically accept orders and payment without issuing any stock warnings. (See Warning messages on products)

Deliveries: 
Royal Mail and all other UK carriers are currently unable to guarantee timed deliveries, due to the massive increase in volumes they are experiencing. Should your order therefore be time sensitive please bear that in mind when placing your order, and it may go through the carriers system quicker, if you select one of the upgrade services at checkout.

We wanted to share with you a couple of photos of the measures we have put into place in our retail store to help keep our customers and our staff as safe as possible....

WEBSITE & RETAIL STORE: Update 15th June 2020

Our Rotherham store is now FULLY OPEN and operating with all protective measures in place, in line with Government guidelines, to ensure we keep both our customers and staff safe and well.

Social Distancing: As our store floor area is limited, we are controlling the amount of people allowed in the shop on a 'one in - 'one out' basis and apologise should you need to wait. Alternatively, we accept orders via the telephone or our website, either for delivery, or a 'click and collect' service.

DELIVERY PROBLEMS - Update 20/05/2020

All the UK courier companies are currently experiencing huge increases in the number of consignments they are handling due to the Corona Virus as more purchases are being made online, and their staffing has been reduced. Please see the typical example below of a letter received from just one of our suppliers, which helps to explain these problems...

Dear Customer,

Providing the best possible levels of customer service is of paramount importance to everyone at Rhino Products, which is why we wanted to update you regarding some of the logistical difficulties we are experiencing caused by the coronavirus situation.

Our delivery partner TNT is currently operating with 50% of its workforce on furlough leave and as a result they are unable to guarantee next day delivery. On top of this, due to their limited capacity TNT are only able to supply us a single trailer to despatch orders each day, whereas we would normally have two when needed. This means while the majority of orders will be despatched the day they are placed, we cannot guarantee same day despatch for the time being.

We are steadily bringing our own furloughed staff back to our sales and customer service teams, but it will be a few more weeks until we are up to full capacity. Therefore, with the high levels of order queries we are receiving due to these TNT service issues, it remains difficult for us to respond to every enquiry as quickly as we would like, as we are prioritising processing orders as quickly as possible.

We sincerely apologise for this drop in our customer service levels during this period, and greatly appreciate your continued support and patience while we rectify these issues. With the national lockdown scheduled to further ease in the coming weeks, we are hopeful we can work with TNT to find solutions as quickly as possible.

This has had a massive impact on all sectors using these businesses, and we have been assured, that whilst they are all working flat out to try and maintain their usual services, at times this is not always possible, and in the short term they will no longer guarantee the delivery times that you as a customer may have selected when ordering from us, particularly next day services.

In view of these difficulties, please bear with us, as we in turn are having to do with the various carriers we use. We would therefore suggest that if your order is time sensitive, you contact us for a more accurate estimate of time scales before you place your order.

These difficulties, we feel certain, will only be temporary during these unprecedented times, and once things settle down and their infrastructures can cope, deliveries will be back to normal. We hope you will appreciate this is outside of our control and thank you for your patience and understanding, should your order be affected.

Signature for goods received: All carrier companies are now operating within the government safety guidelines and will no longer ask you to sign for your order using either paper documents or electronic devices. The driver will usually knock on your door having placed your order in front of it and ask for your name to record on their system. In some cases, if you are not available, they will either leave a card for you to contact the depot for re-delivery, (subject to our normal T & C’s) or leave it in a safe place. It is important therefore when you are notified of a pending delivery that someone is available to accept it. All the carriers we use will take a time recorded picture using GPS systems as proof of delivery to the address you have indicated on your order.

UPDATE 28/04/2020 Covid-19 Customer Notice

WEBSITE - NOW OPEN
We are pleased to advise customers that our NEW website is now open for business. However, as some of our suppliers who dispatch orders directly to our customers are still closed, there may be a delay in processing your order. If your requirement is urgent, please contact us for the latest update.

RETAIL STORE
We have had to make the difficult decision to temporarily close our Rotherham store and fitting operations in line with government advice, and as difficult as this decision has been, we know it is still the right one to protect our staff and customers. We are sorry you will be unable to obtain products from us locally for a temporary period… but we will be back!

Perhaps during these dormant times you might wish to view our website to help you plan for any future activities (you can add products to your "Wish List" to purchase at a later date!) once this crisis has passed, as we anticipate there will be an overwhelming demand for many of the products we sell, which will be coupled with the inevitable shortage of stocks in the supply chain.

Following Government guidelines, we have had to make the difficult decision to temporarily close all of our supply operations with immediate effect. This includes the retail store, our website www.thejourneycentre.co.uk, Amazon and our eBay shop

As difficult as this decision has been, we know it is the right one to protect our staff and customers.

UPDATE 24/3/2020

Following last night’s National Emergency announcement by our Prime Minister, we have  temporarily closed our Store and Workshops. Office based staff will be working from home to answer any queries via email.

Our website will still be open therefore orders can be placed online and will be dispatched as soon as possible, so please bear with us during this difficult time.

Collections service will be unavailable until further notice.

BEFORE YOU ORDER!

Some of our appointed delivery companies may not be able to operate their normal service during the current crisis, therefore please check with us that the item/s you need are available for delivery within the time scale you require, as this may differ from those published on the web site.

Some of our brands such as Rhino Products and Fiamma orders are despatched direct from their UK Warehouses and whilst still currently open and despatching items, this still could change on a daily basis.

Thule Omnistor Warehouse will close at the end of the day (24/3/2020) and all Thule Awnings, Panels and Accessory orders will only be despatched once their warehouse re-opens.

Hubb Systems Warehouse will also close at the end of the day (24/3/2020), all Hubb Roof Bars and Accessories will be dispatched once their warehouse re-opens

We will try to respond to all email and phone enquiries, and wherever possible help you with forward fitting reservations.
