The Journey Centre - Terms and Conditions of Sale - Distant Selling

Please read our standard terms and conditions for distant selling before ordering as it is assumed by placing an order with The Journey Centre you fully understand - agree and accept these terms.

The following conditions apply to and are deemed to be incorporated in all contracts for sale and supply of the Firm's services and materials.

Payment

Payment for items purchased through eBay must be made within 5 working days of the initial order. Accepted payment methods are shown on the eBay item listing. The Journey Centre reserves the right to notify eBay of any unpaid items via any appropriate method including the feedback and Non Payer systems.

No goods shall pass from the company to the customer unless and until the customer has made full and complete payment.

If payment is not made in full and the good have been shipped then The Journey Centre retains title of goods. 

If payment is made and then is withdrawn once goods have been shipped The Journey Centre will seek to recover the goods or their full value plus any expenses incurred.  Interest will be charged at the rate of 10% above bank base rate.

Product Selection

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the correct item has been chosen particularly if vehicle model year and types are involved. The make, model and year stated refer to the production run of the vehicle not necessary the actual year of the vehicle.  If clarification is required please check prior to ordering.  If the incorrect product is supplied due to the customers failure to clarify this then The Journey Centre may, at their discretion, exchange the product less handling charges so long as it falls within the 7 day return policy.

 Product Availability

Whilst we hold good stocks of all products we, like any other business, do run out of some items occasionally due to seasonal demands. Should your order be particularly time sensitive please contact us to check current availablity. Some products may be delivered direct from the manufacturer or supplier but this should not affect the normal lead times from placing your order.

Cancelling Your Order: 

We will only accept cancellation of your order if it has not been processed; this must be confirmed in writing using the eBay message system. Once the goods have been processed and despatched it will be your responsibility and cost to return them. NOTE: There is often a time lapse from the goods actually being processed and the system updating as this is completed in bulk at the end of the day. Any costs incurred by us for processing and/or despatching them will be deducted from any refund. We reservethe right to cancel your order and guarantee to refund your payment in full if we do

Despatch Time:

We process orders received before noon, that same day, and despatch within the items specific listing requirement, please take note of both the despatch time and the delivery time which can vary.

Collections From our Premises:

If you wish to collect your order from our store, please allow 24hrs for collections from the time of ordering, and contact us before calling on 01709 835600, as we may not hold your particular item on the premises and will need to arrange to transfer the stock from either the manufacturer or suppliers warehouse.Please remember to bring a copy of your payment receipt, or eBay invoice and one other form of identification proving your address, otherwise we will be unable to release your goods. Mobile phone Screen shot images are not accepted.

Delivery Choices:

Next Day Delivery is for all orders received by noon.Two to three day and all other deliveries - note the details on the individual listings.Delivery on the free and two to three day services will be any time between 08.30 and 17.00 and is not guaranteedWe can arrange for a specific delivery outside the free service, just select at checkout or give us a call on 01709 835600 for a quote.All deliveries exclude Weekends, Bank Holidays and extended holiday periods when suppliers are closed (e.g. Xmas and New Year)

 

Delivery Exclusions:

Excludes– Non-Mainland UK, Northern Ireland, Highlands (including some AB postcodes), Off Shore Islands, PO Box and BFPO Addresses. Please contact us for a quotation BEFORE ordering.

Free Postage:

This is the basic service, which is not guaranteed and is for ONE VISIT ONLY by the carrier company; therefore you (or someone authorised) must be available when the driver calls on the designated day the parcel will arrive (check the details on the individual eBay listing).In the event that you are not available to receive your order when the driver calls he will leave a card with the telephone number of the holding depot to which it has been returned, where you may be able to make arrangements to collect it with suitable confirmation of your identity. If contact has not been made within three days the carrier company will return the goods to us and you will subsequently be charged for us to send it out again. In the event that you select the upgraded service the driver will make TWO VISITS before the same arrangements apply.

Upgraded Service:

You can upgrade the basic free service if this is not convenient, either by selecting a different option at checkout or telephone us to discuss 01709 835600.

Secure Shipping - Signature Required:

For security purposes and to ensure your order arrives within the time specified, we use various parcel carriers to either fulfil your order from our premises, or it may be sent direct from the manufacturers. In all cases the driver will require a signature for your order, which will discharge his responsibility for the goods. We are unable to deliver to any other address than that which you have registered and verified with eBay or PayPal.

Delivery

Following receipt of your payment we will always try to despatch your order quickly and efficiently normally within a 2 to 5 day delivery period (excluding weekends)
Orders must be signed for on delivery. Please check the cartons carefully before signing. If the packaging is damaged, DO NOT SIGN FOR THE ITEM 'IN GOOD CONDITION' it is your responsibility to indicate any defects on the driver's copy of the consignment note, otherwise you may have difficulty in any claim you may wish to make as we cannot be held responsible for any damages not reported to the driver and duly noted. Shortages and damage should be reported to us in writing or by email to sales@thejourneycentre.co.uk within 24 hours. Our carriers deliver between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday

If you are not available when the carrier delivers your order they will leave a card with instructions on how you can contact them to arrange collection. If you are not normally at the premises during working hours you may wish to leave a note on the door marked 'for attention of the carrier' with clear instructions to e.g. leave next door at number..... the carrier may do so but there is no guarrantee as the contract is to deliver the goods to the address you indicated on your order and they will still need to be signed for, as they will not leave them unattended for security reasons. If you are not available or refuse the goods and do not collect them you will be required to pay any extra carriage costs incurred as the carrier will return them to us without further reference for which we will be charged. Should you require a specific delivery date or time please email us as this may be arranged at an extra cost.

Delivery Locations

 The quoted delivery price is available to UK mainland locations only and excludes the Highlands of Scotland and Northern Ireland and other non-mainland locations including Scottish Isles, Isle of Man, and Channel Islands etc. These will be surcharged and we are unable to ship goods until any surcharge is paid, therefore please contact us for additional shipping charges to these locations if this is applicable before making your purchase. (Please email for details) NOTE: We do not deliver to BFPO locations or outside the UK

The customer accepts that The Journey Centre may use a carrier of their choice and further accepts that the carrier is acting upon the customer's behalf where the cost of carriage incurred by the customer is included in the final amount paid by the customer to The Journey Centre. The customer may elect to appoint his or her own carrier by prior arrangement with The Journey Centre. The carrier's normal delivery period is 2-3 working days (excludes weekends) from receipt of order.

We can supply contact details for the carrier should your goods not arrive within this period, please contact our office either by email or telephone if you need us to progress your delivery.

IMPORTANT - IF THE ITEM IS DELIVERED DAMAGED YOU MUST SIGN FOR IT AS DAMAGED AND NOTIFY US WITHIN 24 HOURS OR WE ARE UNABLE TO MAKE A CLAIM FOR MISSING GOODS AND CANNOT REPLACE THEM FREE OF CHARGE.

Refusing Goods on Delivery:: 

If you do not accept the delivery on arrival and the goods are subsequently returned to us, we will deduct the carriage costs we have incurred plus an administration and restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price from any refund, which will also be subject to all the other terms and conditions.

Leave with Neighbour:: 

You may nominate an immediate or adjacent neighbour to accept your parcel by messaging via eBay to advise us and leaving a large signed note with the nominated neighbours house number for the driver to clearly see. Please also add your telephone number should the driver wish to contact you. Ensure you attach it in a prominent place on the obvious door that he will visit (this additional service is at the drivers discretion and cannot be guaranteed). Upon no circumstances will the driver leave the parcel unattended without a signature in what you may consider to be a 'safe place'. 

Items Not received:

If your item has not arrived within the time specified in the listing, please contact us via the eBay messaging service and confirm by telephone 01709 835600 between 09.30 and 17.00 Monday to and we will do all we can to locate and update you with the current status of your order. All claims for non receipt must be made within 7 days of order.

Damages & Shortages - Receipt of Your Order:

On the rare occasion, if an order arrives damaged (outer packaging) please ensure you sign for it as ‘RECEIVED DAMAGED’ to enable us to process a claim against the carrier company.If the product inside the packaging is subsequently also found to be damaged neither we or the carriers will accept any claim for damaged goods if you have not signed for them as damaged upon receiving them.You will also be required to provide photographic evidence of the damage.If the item appears to be totally damaged and unusable, please refuse to accept the goods and the carrier will then return them to us automatically.Please also ensure you advise us of either any damage or refusal within 24 hours.Claims for missing parts must be made within 5 days of receiving your item otherwise they will be chargeable along with the cost of postage

Guarantee

The company guarantees that should any products supplied not be to the standard, or in any way different from that advertised, we will refund any monies paid by the customer, but shall only apply to the item's in question. Complaints or non-receipt of goods must be reported to the company in writing within 5 working days of order date.

The Journey Centre will not be held responsible for any costs incurred due to a product becoming faulty due to misuse or damage by the customer unless The Journey Centre has agreed them, with prior arrangement. The Journey Centre does not accept responsibility for damage to any equipment in which products supplied are used for the purpose other than that for which they are designed. This clause does not affect your statutory rights.

The Journey Centre cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies with instructions or data produced and supplied by the manufacturer of the goods.

Manufacturers Guarantee:

Please check within the instructions included with your goods for the manufacturers specific warranty period. If a fault develops on an item you have purchased within the first 28 days of receipt, we will give you a replacement or refund following verification by the manufacturers service department. We reserve the right to send the goods to the Service Department for inspection to ascertain whether the product has manufacturing faults, or are due to customer misuse.

If a fault should develop after 28 days but within the guarantee period, we will send out spare parts free of charge wherever possible.
If a product is damaged due to accident or misuse you will be charged for the costs incurred of any repairs carried out along with the carriage charges. We will contact you before carrying out these repairs. It is your responsibility to return the goods safely to us for assessment.

Faulty Goods or Claims for Non Fitting:

When your item leaves our warehouse or the manufacturers premises they are brand new in sealed packages (unless stated otherwise in the eBay Listing) and fully working, and will conform to the information on the listing. If you believe your item is faulty or doesn’t fit, we will require photographic images of the fault or issues along with pictures of the labels on the cartons plus your vehicle registration number before the return process can be commenced. 

Return of Non Faulty Goods

Customers have up to 7 days to return any goods from the date of receipt, for reasons other than the item/s being faulty or if errors and incorrect goods have been made/sent by The Journey Centre.  We do not accept goods back outside this period.

The goods must be returned in a totally resalable condition and untried or tested in the original unopened, undamaged packaging, otherwise we will be unable to accept it as this will need to be resold to another customer. Upon receipt and satisfactory examination of the goods at our premises, a refund of the original purchase price of the goods paid will be made using the same method of payment as your purchase less a deduction for any credit card and/or processing charges plus any eBay and Paypal Fees incurred by The Journey Centre.

Delivery Charges will not be refunded as delivery is a service which is completed when the original delivery is made, and where we deliver items on the FREE delivery option a minimum of £15 per parcel (£25 for a roof box or similar large item) will be charged when we use a parcel courier and £3 per parcel if sent via Royal Mail.

We do not accept goods back for return that have been specifically ordered for a customer from a supplier by The Journey Centre as this would be deemed an irrevocable order.

Exclusions to our returns policy: Returns are not accepted on Child Car Seats when bought either separately or as part of a Travel System due to the safety issues involved (this guarrantees our customers are receiving a 'factory fresh' unit that cannot possibly have been previously used or involved in an accident)

 You must arrange for the items to be shipped back to our premises.

The customer is liable for the safe transportation of the goods until we receive them. It is the responsibility of the customer returning the item to ensure that it is correctly packaged for it's return as The Journey Centre will not be liable for any damage incurred during transit, it is therefore advisable to arrange suitable insurance cover for your protection. Upon receipt of the total goods and packaging in a saleable condition a refund for the original purchase price of the goods paid will be made by original method of payment. 

Any original postage and packaging charge will not be refunded.

No items for return will be accepted at our premises without prior agreement and without a copy of our returns acceptance agreement number, which will be emailed to you upon application to return the goods 

RETURNS POLICY - PRODUCTS DIRECT FROM SUPPLIERS

Due to the vast range of products we sell, your order for e.g. Rhino, Van Guard, some Thule and other brands will be despatched from the manufacturer’s factory or warehouse. On these occasions our normal 30-day returns policy will not apply, as they will have been produced specifically for you therefore please ensure you order the correct parts for your vehicle. RETURNS– UNWANTED OR ORDERED INCORRECTLY - RE STOCKING CHARGE

Where an item has been supplied correctly as described in the listing, or ordered specifically for you, we reserve the right not to accept any request for return or exchange, and it is strictly at our discretion if we do so. This will also attract a handling, administration and restocking charge of 20% of the sale valueIf the item has been removed from the packaging, with seals damaged, internal bags opened, or the item has been assembled, we will be unable to consider any requests for return or exchange. Goods must be as 'NEW and UNOPENED' to conform to eBay regulations enabling us to re advertise and offer them to another member without contravening their rules and ultimately damaging our status.Where products are despatched directly from the factory or our supplier, and in the event that you have ordered incorrectly, but still conform to our terms and conditions, the manufacturer will make a substantial charge for the inconvenience of checking and repackaging the item upon its return, as it will need to be sold again to another customer, which we will pass on to you. We would therefore obtain a quotation for their handling charges, but as a guide these can often be a minimum of £40. It will also be your responsibility and your cost to organise and insure the return of the goods (we will give you an authorisation number and the appropriate return address DO NOT RETURN GOODS WITHOUT PRIOR AGREEMENT AND AN AUTHORISATION NUMBER AS THEY WILL BE REFUSED

Cancellation of order

Where a customer has a 'change of mind' and chooses to cancel the order and it has not been despatched we reserve the right to deduct a charge to cover administration costs which will not exceed 15% of the value of the order including vat. but will be a minimum of £15 including vat. 

If the goods have already been despatched and refused acceptance at the point of delivery we will deduct a 20% handling and administration charge plus all carriage costs incurred for both the outward carriage and any subsequent return carriage. Where goods have been ordered and the carriage is included under our free service a minimum charge of £15 will be deducted from any refund due.

PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE:

Before entering in to any correspondence or considering claims, we will require photographs of the item and/or it's problem

Privacy and Data Protection

The Journey Centre will not share any address, contact details or payment details with any other parties.

We may contact you to advise you of any special offers. If you do not wish to receive this notification, please let us know in writing.
